    1. I can't even describe how accurate this is. This was pretty much what happened whenever a cousin of mine got into a good university or got hired at a big company. And it happened to me just last year when I got into UofT. XD

    2. So ummm anyway do everybody know that Kevin kwan (the author) is one of ocbc founder's grandson?? Lol so basically Kevin kwan was a part of the crazy rich Asian… Myb like the rainbow sheep of the family… Just like the character Oliver

    3. I am African American and saw this movie for the 1st time a few days ago. I don't claim to be an expert on Asian/Singapore cultural norms, but IMO, this was a standard Hollywood romantic wedding/Cinderella story that has been done 1000X. Just instead of Whites actors, they replaced them with Asian actors. I was entertained, and I guess that would be enough for most, but this was touted to be the Black Panther for Asians. But I didn't learn anything new about Asian culture.

    4. Asians speaking in British accents, wearing pearls and reading the bible isn't Asian. That's just wannabe white people stuff. No one conforms like Asians, that's for sure.
